The blokes are out there wearing smart suits and sensible layers, so why are we women getting our kits off? Incidentally, don't tell me it's the fashion. The day I do a trolley dash around ASDA in a leopard-print leotard is the day that common decency will have had its chips.

I promise I'm no prude. I definitely belong to the "if you've got it flaunt it" brigade - no, not you, Peter Stringfellow - but it can go too far, and popettes, all this gussetflashing is crossing the line.

The thing to ponder is where can this trend go?What's the next stage when already there's only the fabric equivalent of two teabags and an empire biscuit left to take off?

So Madge, Beyonce and the rest of your gang, perhaps it's time to get back to the drawing board and come up with something really ground-breaking and innovative.

How about - gasp, shock - wearing clothes. Trust me, it will have benefits.You will no longer look the same as every other singer on the block.You'll be rectifying the imbalance between the sexes.You'll show our younger generations there's no need to get your kit off to get attention. But most importantly of all, you'll never have to worry about the long-term consequences of chills in the nethers.
